Kick off your high heels and take off that corporate tie for a good cause in March as its ‘World Kidney Month’. Come show your support for over 30,000 Malaysians who are on dialysis treatment, simply by going casual and wearing a badge to show your support and care.

There are 30,000 Malaysians who are currently on dialysis, 3 times per week, 4 hours per session. Each year 5,500 new Malaysians are diagnosed with kidney failure and complications.                  

The sad fact is that should these patients fail to obtain a transplant, they are dependent on a machine for the rest of their lives. Realising this and seeing a desperate need to help poor patients who simply can’t afford the exorbitant cost of dialysis, the MAA-Medicare Kidney Charity Fund (Medicare) public trust fund was established 20 years ago.

Our patients pay RM60 per dialysis session, 13 times a month compared to RM150 - RM250 per session at private centres and hospitals.

RM60 buys one session of dialysis (medical supplies) for 1 kidney patient.
