Hike For Hong Kong is a social responsibility initiative driven by the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Participation is open to members of the Listing Committee, as well as the staff of the Listing Department, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd and the Securities and Futures Commission (Corporate Finance). All participants are welcome to take part with their family and colleagues.
Participants take part in the hike to raise funds for HandsOn Hong Kong, a local community-focused charity. Money raised from Hike for Hong Kong 2018 will enable a year of outings and extracurricular activities for young people with disabilities. Nearly half of individuals with disabilities in Hong Kong live beneath the poverty line without the opportunity to join excursions that require financial resources from their families. The series of outings that this year’s hike will fund will broaden the horizons of hundreds of students while also strengthening their social skills and providing health and educational benefits.Funds are raised through participants collecting sponsorship from family and friends in advance of the hike.
Hike For Hong Kong takes place at Sai Kung Country Park along a beautiful 7.6 km trail that begins at the Sai Kung Country Park Pak Tam Chung gate. Transport will be available from Central to the start of the hike. Participants will be provided with a Hike For Hong Kong t-shirt prior to the event and refreshments on the day. Return transport and lunch will also be provided.
