A favourite moment in the Harrow Hong Kong school year for our family is joining with the School community to tackle the Maclehose trail in support of the School's nominated charities of the year. This year Ariane and her Dad Richard will run the Short Ducker (7.6km), while Finnian will team up with friends to walk the Long Ducker (15.5km).
My Story
Long Ducker is modelled on one of the charitable traditions brought from Harrow School in London, in which students, teachers, parents and Old Harrovians come together to run either 10 or 20 miles for charity.
In the Hong Kong version of Long Ducker, the charity Run & Walk is followed by a vibrant fair day at School featuring entertainment, games and activites and a spectracular selection of foods from around the world. Friends of Harrow, the parent teacher association of the school, coordinates the International Food Court, all proudly sourced or prepared and served by parents. Natalia will spend her Long Ducker day working on logistics and support for Friends of Harrow. One day I'll get out on that trail!
In 2018, Long Ducker charitable funds will support Crossroads Foundation, HandsOn Hong Kong, HELP for Domestic Workers, Hong Kong Dog Rescue, Action Against Hunger and Girls Not Brides.
Please help us to help them, by giving a little something.
