Home of Peace Kuala Lumpur is a home for girls from underprivileged backgrounds. Incorporated
in 1993 and registered in 1996 with the Department of Social Welfare, the Home aims
to create a caring environment where the girls may fully develop, as any child
would in the care of their natural parents in a loving home. Emphasis is placed
on education for the girls as a means to create a better life for them.
The Home started its home schooling programme in 2013. This caters to the
childrens’ targeted educational needs, some of whom have never been registered
in public schools. In the Home’s experience, home schooling creates an
environment and curriculum that provides for focused, one-on-one attention from
teachers. The school is run by full time teachers, aided by a group of
committed volunteers.
