VISION (Why we do what we do)
Enabling a Circular Economy for toy recycling in support of play for all.

We aim to create a Circular Economy for the toy industry in Malaysia that connects manufacturers, distributors, purchasers (public) and plastic recycling stakeholders who have excess stock, returns or preloved toys. Play Unlimited will collect, clean, sort, repack these items in order for them to be sent to marginalised communities that have little or no access to toys and learning materials for their children, preschools or schools (SDG 10 & SDG 17). Thus, reducing inequalities in early childhood care and education.

This will also prevent at least 100 tonnes of toys (90% of which are difficult to recycle PVC) from ending up in the landfills. Thus, creating a safer and healthier environment for all, while providing toys and play materials to enable an environment of positive social-emotional development for at-risk children.
The name of this visionary project is the Re:Play project (“Recycle For Play” project) - which involves creating a nationwide network of Toy Recycling Hubs, Toy Shoppes and Toy Libraries with our community and nonprofit partners.

MISSION (What we do)
We recycle toys for play and education

STRATEGY (How we do what we do)
Through our Re:Play (Recycle for Play) Project

METHODOLOGY
  • Establish Re:Play Toy Recycling Hubs that collect and re-purpose preloved toys and play materials from the public, toy suppliers, schools and companies nationwide.
  • Re-sell a portion of the toys collected through the Re:Play Toy Shoppes for sustainable income to fund the setting up of community toy libraries, childcare centers and safe spaces at an affordable cost.
  • Set up Community Toy Libraries to provide play services and toy library services for parents.
  • Develop a system to monitor impact and to collect data on the toy industry on the amount of toys in the landfills or on recycled toys.
