The name “The Happy Path: Insight Therapy'' emphasizes the process of achieving enjoyment and tranquility within our daily lives. The idea of achieving mental happiness is a journey and gaining insightful therapy. We aim to make a positive impact about the growing mental health issues in Malaysia. My Story

1 in 3 Malaysians 

Have mental health issues, with highest prevalence among those aged 16-19 years and those from low-income families according to a press statement made by the Minister of Health

Malaysia is one of three remaining ASEAN countries that still criminalize suicide. A total of 1,081 suicide attempts in Malaysia were recorded in 2020 alone. In 2017, there were only 360 registered psychiatrists for both the country’s public and private sectors.

We, a group of 16 students from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia are keen on helping various people silently suffering from mental challenges, who do not have the financial ability to help themselves. This project focused on crowdfunding for the Malaysia Mental Health Association (MMHA) which is to pursue social awareness, inclusive legislation and greater accessibility to mental health services for all. By the spread of knowledge and information about mental issues on social media platforms, we hope that more people in the community are able to increase mental health development in society.
