Wingman are fundraising for Locks of Hope (Persatuan Kunci Harapan)

Join us, become a Wingman, as we take those who need our help under our wings and lift them up! Our campaign aims to fundraise the manufacturing costs of wigs that will be provided to cancer patients, who are facing hair loss issues due to cancer treatment.

My Story

Wing Up! is an online fundraising campaign started by Wingman, a team of 5 students from Taylor's University in collaboration with Locks of Hope Association. Our campaign aims to support cancer patients who are undergoing treatment and facing hair loss issues that follow, by fundraising for the manufacturing costs of wigs, that would bring a smile back to their faces.

GOAL:

Through our campaign, we hope to raise funds for the manufacture of wigs and to spread the word about Locks of Hope Association and their efforts, which could encourage future, possible hair donations and to introduce cancer patients who are in need for a wig but are financially burdened, a platform to apply for a free wig.

ISSUE:

Hair loss is one the most common and traumatic side effects of cancer treatment for cancer patients. Patients who have lost their hair while battling the disease often feel discouraged and insecure, and would opt for wigs to cover themselves up. Unfortunately, amidst the cost of cancer treatments, the cost of a wig could easily go up to RM 800, and may be out of reach for some financially burdened cancer patients.


LOCKS OF HOPE ASSOCIATION:

The association is the first in Malaysia to provide a platform for the public to donate their hair to be turned into wigs for cancer patients who are going through cancer treatment. The association plays the role of collecting hair donations, manufacturing wigs, providing wigs to cancer patients for free and donating wigs to organisations such as Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia and National Cancer Society Malaysia.
