Dear All,
A GLOBAL MOMENT
The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is dedicated to advancing possibilities
for people around the world. As a
company that lives its shared values, ELC has been at the forefront of
supporting the global breast cancer
community for more
than 30 years.
At a time when breast
cancer wasn’t
spoken about openly,
Evelyn H. Lauder saw an opportunity to bring awareness to the disease
and address stigmas in women’s health. In 1992, she co-created the pink ribbon
and founded The Estée Lauder
Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign (The Campaign)
- inspiring a global movement around The Campaign’s
mission to help create a breast cancer-free world for all.
Through the collective efforts of individuals, organizations, and communities, ELC Malaysia remains steadfast in our mission as we strive to help end breast cancer worldwide. Currently, our Campaign supports the Cancer Research Malaysia (CRM), the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM), College of Radiology Malaysia, and the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA). Although progress has been made, there is still more that can be done, and so we ask for your continuous involvement and support to our Campaign this year.
2023 marks a special year for us in Estee Lauder Companies as we are focusing all our month-long October CSR activities (landmark illumination, wellness community building efforts, health walk at the park to afternoon high tea drive) by working closely with the wonderful KLCC properties from Suria KLCC, KLCC Park & Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. We believe that we will drive a much bigger impact by focusing all BCC CSR efforts united at one hub to drive public awareness & engagement at KLCC The Place.
Firstly, to officially launch the Campaign, we will be illuminating Petronas Twin Towers – a local iconic landmark at the heart of Kuala Lumpur city center – with pink lights on 3rd October.
In partnership with KLCC Park, we will host our “KLCC Park Pink Walk” at KLCC park on 28th October dedicated to the brave and inspiring breast cancer survivors. Participants will be able to enjoy the serenity of the KLCC park & form the Pink Human Ribbon formation at the KLCC Esplanade for a photo opportunity at MYR200/participant.
As we have many upcoming events for the Campaign, please don’t forget to use the hashtags #TimeToEndBreastCancer #EsteeLauderCompaniesMY #EsteeLauderMY in all your postings on social media to increase public awareness of the Campaign and to widen the community outreach.
In an effort to bring our social impact to life through elevated, digital-first experiences, The Breast Cancer Campaign has a dedicated augmented reality filter on ELC’s global Instagram handle, @esteelaudercompanies. Featuring our iconic Pink Ribbon pin, users are able to show their support for the global breast cancer community year-round by posting Instagram content using ELC’s Pink Ribbon filter, tagging @esteelaudercompanies and using the hashtag #TimeToEndBreastCancer.
Every single contribution made by you has played a role in making a positive impact for the breast cancer community, both locally and globally, and will continue to do so until the day we achieve a breast cancer-free world.
