The Music Run by CIMB is back on the 3rd of December, bigger and better than ever! As Malaysia’s largest 5km running event, together with CIMB, we believe it is our responsibility to employ sustainable event practices in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We aim to create a more sustainable future while inspiring young people to have MORE FUN. LESS WASTE. EMPOWER EVERYONE.
We are working with 4 organisations in supporting their goals of food waste reduction and providing aid to those in need.
Food Aid Foundation
Food Aid Foundation, a food bank in Malaysia, is a non-profit governmental organisation (NGO) incorporated in 2013, where manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, companies, and the public can donate their unused or unwanted foods, to be collected and distributed to charitable/welfare homes, volunteer welfare organisation, refugees community, poor families, destitute and soup kitchens. In short, they rescue surplus food from the supply chain and distribute food to people in need.
Kechara Soup Kitchen
Kechara Soup Kitchen strives to reduce homelessness, hunger, poverty, and food wastage to work towards a better quality of life for the underprivileged in Malaysia. The organisation serves vegetarian hot meals, dry food, fruits, drinks, primary medical care, and welfare aid to the homeless and urban poor.
Kembara Kitchen
When Malaysia's MCO was first imposed, they sprang into action with a group of volunteers in tow to serve those in need. They started by supplying food to Covid19 treatment hospitals and continued giving hot meals to front liners such as the police and firefighters. Care packages containing staples such as rice, oil, noodles, face masks, and canned and dried foods are delivered to families struggling to survive. The group has also sent aid to Zoo Negara, Orang Asli villagers, old-folks homes, and the disabled.
The Lost Food Project
The Lost Food Project (TLFP) is a Malaysian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to a sustainable future by rescuing ‘lost’ food and finding it a new home with people who need it most. TLFP prevents quality, nutritious food, and other surplus goods from going to landfill and redistributes this food and other essential items to those in need – regardless of religion, gender, age, disability, or ethnic group.
