We are two families, the Liow's and the Tsang's, united on our annual trip to Cambodia every November to uplift communities in need. Our mission focuses on supporting seven rural kindergartens in the Prey Veng Province. Each year, we visit several of these kindergartens, where we share music, crafts and games with the children, and donate teaching materials and equipment. Additionally, we help improve the facilities by contributing items such as playgrounds, washing areas, toilets and water wells. Our mission also extends to the slums of Phnom Penh, where we assist street children and youth at risk by providing school materials, conducting hair washing, lice treatment and dental care. We also foster social connections through sports and games. To spread joy and warmth during the holiday season, we visit slum areas and elderly homes, delivering Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts.Relationship with Beneficiary:We serve as TEMPUS, an operational NGO registered in Cambodia, and we collaborate with two dedicated local NGOs that have been active in these areas for many years. They are Love Cambodia and Children@Risk. These communities face some of the highest rates of poverty and child abuse, along with limited access to education and basic healthcare. Through our partnership, we aim to build genuine relationships, bring hope, and uplift those in need.
Hello, my name is Mohamad Adil, and I’m on a journey to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a certified pilot. I am currently undergoing an intensive, self-funded pilot training program at CAE Kuala Lumpur, which is not only rigorous but also requires significant financial commitment. Completing this program comes with a unique opportunity: a 100% job guarantee with AirAsia upon certification. To make this dream a reality, I need your help to cover the final costs of my flight training hours and simulator sessions. With these funds, I can complete the necessary training and take the final steps toward a stable, fulfilling career in aviation. How You Can Help: To complete my training, I need to raise a total of RM 60,000. Your support, no matter the amount, will be instrumental in helping me reach my goal. The funds will be used entirely for: Flight Training Hours and Simulator Time – RM 60,000 This amount covers essential flight training hours and simulator sessions required to meet certification standards. These practical sessions are the most critical—and costly—components of my training, ensuring I develop the skills and experience needed to safely operate commercial aircraft. Program Highlights • Self-Funded: This program is entirely self-funded, which is why I’m reaching out to the community for support. • Guaranteed Job Placement: Upon successful completion, I am guaranteed a job placement with AirAsia, allowing me to step directly into a rewarding aviation career. Every Bit Helps Your generosity will directly impact my ability to complete my training and launch a career in aviation. By donating, you are not only supporting my education but also empowering a dream that leads to a 100% job-secured future. Please consider contributing and sharing my story with others who may be interested in supporting a future pilot. Thank you for helping me reach new heights!

Hello Everyone..With a humble heart, I would like to raise funds to build a home for our family to shelter in.We have been renting for over 20 years and still do not have a permanent place to live. With the very high cost of living, I am unable to afford the rent and support my family with four school-going children.I am also supporting my mother, who is disabled and unwell. At the moment, we can only afford to rent a house with two rooms and one bathroom. We have to use one room as a storage space. With my small salary and the very high cost of living, I cannot afford to own a home or find a comfortable place for us to shelter.I hope that those with kind hearts can help us. Your kindness is greatly appreciated and means a lot to us.
The war against the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnamese occupation completely destroyed the Cambodian educational system and all its schools. Cambodia remains one of the poorest countries in Southeast Asia: in 2014, 15% of the Cambodian population officially lived below the national poverty line of $1/day (Source: World Bank, 2018).Even today, few resources are allocated to education, resulting in a lack of infrastructure and qualified teachers. Unable to afford schooling for their children and not always aware of the importance of education, many families send their children out of school to work.Committed to education since nearly 30 years, our mission is to provide a good quality education to the underprivileged children and youth living in the Angkor temples area and the nearby villages. We aim to:- Offer practical and technical vocational training that allows an opening to the labor market and thus to generate an income for the student, - Ensure the good health and hygiene of children and support families in difficulty due to illness, - Support environmental protection and sustainable agriculture, - Encourage the development of income-generating activities for families.Bayon Education and Development works for education through 4 programs: - A primary school, which welcomes children from kindergarten to grade 6, - A follow-up program for our students who continue their studies in public secondary schools, high schools and universities, - A vocational training program in bakery and pastry making, which welcomes young Cambodian women from disadvantaged backgrounds and a Coffee Shop,- A green farming project which aims to train families in agroecology but also to supply the school canteen with organic vegetables and a one-year vocational training in agroecology which welcomes young Cambodian women and men from disadvantaged backgrounds. To learn more about our actions, visit https://www.ecoledubayon.org/en/Each donation represents a precious help in the education of a young Cambodian. We would like to warmly thank you for your invaluable support.

My name is Fiza, founder of Furqon Korean Hand Acupuncture Centre, and I am a cancer survivor and SLE fighter. Alongside my husband, Arief, who is also a therapist at Furqon, we’ve seen a growing need for specialized cancer care among our patients. We’ve been using Koryo Hand Therapy (KHT) to support various health issues, and now, we are committed to deepening our expertise specifically for cancer patients. The training we need is only offered in New Zealand by a professional medical doctor born in Korea with over 20 years of experience working in a KHT cancer clinic in Korea. His experience and knowledge in this field are invaluable, and the course is not available in Malaysia, making it crucial for us to attend this program to bring the knowledge back and help more patients. The total cost of this initiative is RM 55,000, and we are currently short of RM 25,000.Breakdown of costs:RM 30,000: Course fees for two participants (Fiza & Arief)The remaining amount will cover flights, accommodation, and living expenses during our time in New Zealand.By contributing to this cause, you will help us acquire specialized training to enhance the care we provide to cancer patients in Malaysia. Your support will enable us to continue our mission of making a positive impact on the lives of those battling cancer.Thank you for your generous support!

New Updates 20 March 2022The house is done renovation and the family is safely moved in. (New update picture in the galleries) Updates 1July 2021At 80%, the renovation of the Chin family’s house is nearing completion! Progress was delayed due to the ongoing MCO, but rest assured, the team is working hard and trying their best to speed up the process so that the Chin family can move in as soon as possible!Hi there!First and foremost, thank you for taking time out of your day to read about this campaign. I’m Lansson and I have a story to share with you.FYI – All the proceeds from this website will go directly to the Chin Family’s account. Kindly refer to photos above for account details. (Name: Koo Yok Kion / Mrs Chin – Bank Acc No.: 5015489028 PBB)YouTube Video of the House Overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RT7Biv9UJoThe Volunteer Renovation CompanyBusiness Name: Scale Space WorksBusiness Registration No.: 002965645-APerson-in-Charge: Ong Xing Kai (012-3953699)The BackstoryIt all started when I was trying to sell off a used refrigerator. An acquaintance mentioned that one of his staff needed a new refrigerator but was unable to afford one. I decided to just give it away to the family. When I went over to deliver it, I was shocked by what I saw, even from the outside. I asked if the family would allow me to take a look inside their house as the movers carried the refrigerator in. We then had a short chat. The FamilyMrs Chin (Koo Yok Kion), 53, works as a kitchen helper and earns just over RM40 a day. She rides to work on a bicycle as the old Proton Saga in the driveway is beyond repair. She works in order to support her husband, now 63, and young son, soon turning 13. Mr Chin used to work as a factory worker, but after having a stroke years ago, he has since developed problems with his vision and now requires a walking stick to get around. Mr Chin has been unable to find another job at a factory since. Their son, Ming, will be starting secondary school next year and is a straight-A student. Both father and son have biscuits or noodles for lunch when Mrs Chin is at work during the weekdays. In the evening, Mrs Chin brings home leftover rice and a simple dish from the restaurant or two boxes of takeaway mixed rice shared between the three of them. With barely enough money for themselves after paying the bills and Mr Chin’s hypertension medication, it was unlikely that they would be able to save enough money to fix the house in any capacity. The BuildingA front door hanging off its hinges. Wooden walls ravaged by termites. A rusty tin roof with large sections blown away over the years. Water gets in when it rains, as mould-ridden stains mark the ceiling throughout the house. In some rooms, planks of wood are positioned as makeshift support beams to keep the roof from falling, but parts of the house were already crumbling. Last year, Ming had been infected with dengue, possibly a result of all the openings to the outside throughout the house and windows without netting, exposing the family to mosquitos. The Follow-upI visited the Chin family a week later to help the family move and dispose of all broken and unused items from the house with a group of friends. One of them was a contractor who, after going through the house, said that one section could be renovated and be made safe to live in as it had stable concrete walls. The rest of the house was unsalvageable. However, while he was willing to do the renovation at cost price, he would not be able to bear the full expense. This is where I come to you, dear reader, to perhaps consider contributing towards the renovation cost. Ultimately, what we hope to achieve is to provide the Chin family a safe space to live in.This building might look like a house, but will you help us make it a home? Recent ConcernsSince starting this campaign, we have received questions regarding the house and land ownership. Please be assured that we are also working together with legal advisors who are willing to help pro bono, so the Chin family may continue to stay on this piece of land. With regards to house ownership, it was passed down from Mr Chin’s grandmother to himself and his brother. However, around 20 years ago, Mr Chin’s brother had passed away. His then sister-in law remarried soon after and changed her and her children’s last name. There was one day when Mr Chin’s sister paid a visit, but only to ask for a share of the land. Mr Chin requested that she change back her children’s last name to Chin before discussing any further, but she declined this request. She has since never visited the Chin family again and has decidedly moved on. While this story has its fair share of family drama, at the end of the day, our main priority is to help provide a safe living space for the Chin family.
Ruck, Catherine, Andy and Matt are going to attempt to complete the 100km MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong on February 5th. 100km feels quite a long way - especially when matched with over 4,366m elevation - similar to that of hiking from sea level to the Matterhorn in the Alps! We will complete the full 100km together, starting early morning on February 5th 2021 and finishing in the early hours of the next day. Charities and those whom rely on their generosity have been some of the hardest hit due to Covid-19. So we are raising funds for 2 local charities in Hong Kong, Mind HK and Mother's Choice, that are close to our hearts, with donations raised split equally between them. We are hugely grateful for any contributions people feel comfortable giving. According to Mind HK's research (September 2020) , over 50% of Hong Kong residents believe their mental worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic . Money raised through this campaign will support the translation and adaptation of resources on mental health during COVID-19. This is to ensure we can get timely and relevant information to individuals to help them manage their mental health through the pandemic. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has also created a large hole in Mother's Choice traditional fundraising activities. It will continually need funds to keep its doors open to support those who need help most - vulnerable children without families and pregnant teenagers in HK. We want to support Mother's Choice vision, which is "to see every child in a loving family". Funds donated here will also be used to purchase mosquito repellent machines, and cots with mattresses for their Child Care Home. Thank you for supporting our fundraising challenge!NB: If your donation is matched by Goldman Sachs, please forward the GS Matching Gift Program confirmation email to [email protected], so that we can add it to the Total Raised. Thank you.

Our good friend, family member and colleague Maks has had a tragic motorbike accident in Phuket Thailand on 30th July 2019. He suffered Traumatic Brain Injury called "Severe Diffuse Axonal Injury" and has been in a coma ever since at Vachira hospital in Phuket. He was in ICU for 20 of those days.Currently, His health is stable but is still on a breathing machine. His family have flew over and have been by his side during this difficult time of his life. They are now trying every effort to come up with the funds to bring him back home where they can be by his side and provide him with the care he needs until such time as he wakes up. The hospital issued a travel clearance for him but he will be needing a full medical team and equipment to travel back home. The amount to bring him back home will be around $40k plus around $20k in hospital bills. We are seeking to raise the money for Maks and his family and would greatly appreciate any financial support that can be given.
FlowerPower is a new non-profit that aims to repurpose flowers after wedding/events and deliver them to less well-off individuals and communities. Our aim is to bring joy and positive energy to the community by repurposing flowers from large events e.g. weddings or corporate functions. We collect flowers, repackage them into mini-bouquets and deliver them to those who need it most (e.g. nursing homes, women's shelters and disadvantaged communities), thereby enhancing mental wellness as well as reducing waste. Why flowers? Flowers are important in enhancing mental wellness. We all know that flowers naturally bring positive energy: they look pretty, smell good and they brighten our physical environment, making us feel more comfortable. However, flowers actually operate on a deeper brain chemical level too! Studies have shown that flowers increase levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain - which are the exact same chemicals targeted by antidepressants. There is also evidence that flowers reduce anxiety, encourage social interaction and improve memory function. Historically, they have been a symbol of love and affection, and flowers trigger these happy memories. Furthermore, flowers facilitate a reconnection with nature in today’s increasingly disconnected society. How will it work?We have teamed up with a number of hotels around Singapore to keep us informed of events, as well as charity organisations who will be our beneficiaries.Check out our website at scentflowerpower.wixsite.com/singapore for more details!FundraisingAll funds raised will go towards the cost of transport of collecting and distributing flowers as well as some basic necessities to make and decorate our repurposed flower bouquets. We are aiming to raise $2000. This will pay for supplies and enable us to attend an estimate of 25-30 events.
I’m taking part in the Ironman 70.3 Langkawi (Malaysia) on the 17th November 2018. This is a triathlon race which consists of swimming for 1.9km, then cycling for 90km and running a half-marathon in a row. More information on the race on the following link Ironman 70.3 Langkawi Help Me Swim, Cycle and Run for Critically Sick Children Although the Ironman 70.3 Langkawi remains a personal challenge for me, I just do not want to race only for me to reach that goal but I want to race for a good cause and try to help others, especially very sick kids. There is one French association, “Le Marche De Noel”, which has been organizing since 2010 the “French Charity Christmas bazaar” in Kuala Lumpur. I want to help this association which is doing a fantastic work. All the fundraising goes to one NGO ( “Make-a-Wish Malaysia” ) and one charity programme ( “A-Heart for A-Heart” ) that support and fight for the kids of Malaysia who have life-threatening disease or congenital heart disease. I’m lucky to be in good health and enjoy sport every day, hence as a father of a young child giving the possibility to kids and their family to have a brighter future is so important to me.Counting on your strong support, please fundraise with me!

This urgent appeal seeks to raise RM175,000 to provide temporary homes for displaced families in Gaza. Each USD 200 donated to our cause will support a family of 5-7 in the form of monthly apartment rental. Our intent is to cover the cost for apartment rentals for up to 6 months for identified families.Thousands of Palestinians have been displaced with the recent shelling of Gaza, coming back to flattened homes and having nowhere to go. With this little gesture shown by you, our donors, relief and protection can be given to these distraught families, with Allah's will. This urgent appeal and fundraiser is in collaboration with Persatuan Cinta Gaza Malaysia, an established non-profit organization that supports social and economic growth in Palestine. Cinta Gaza Malaysia (CGM) was founded in 2015 by Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzzaman, a Malaysian living in Gaza.We understand the grave uncertainty which the people of Gaza endure day in and day out. Brick-to-brick, heart-to-heart, let's join hands in realizing their dream of peace, certainty, and hope.

During COVID19 pandemic, MFMW has assisted over 300 migrant domestic workers to find free temporary accommodation. Now, with the increased demand caused by the pandemic and the much-needed free shelters full, suitable and decent accommodation which is affordable for migrant domestic workers has become very difficult to find. Recent news report have highlighted the overcrowded and dangerous living conditions which many migrant workers must suffer as they have nowhere else to go. We are supporting migrant domestic workers in need, especially those who contracts are terminated and abandoned due to the COVID 19 pandemic, those who are waiting to receive their labour compensation, those who are in between jobs and those who are stranded in Hong Kong. To date, we have provided rent support to nearly 20 workers, but there are hundreds more that need our- and your- help. It costs $400 to sponsor 1 worker for accommodation and food for one week. $50,000 will support 30 workers to stay in Hong Kong for 1 month. We appeal for your help to house and feed this vulnerable and valued group within our community during the COVID19 pandemic. Please help- any amount you can give will be most gratefully received.
While most of us are working from home or maintaining social distancing due to the Covid19 outbreak, our healthcare front liners are braving great risks to their health in battling against the deadly Covid-19 virus. These unsung heroes are sacrificing their time with their families and friends and the dedication to serve our fellow countrymen during this difficult time.As the number of cases rises, the supply of medical gears and protective equipment are rapidly depleting. The least we can do for them and our country is to contribute and continue to support them by supplying armours that will enable them to protect themselves whilst they are carrying out their daily duties. On top of the current Government support, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has partnered up with a response & relief team IMARET (http://www.imamalaysia.org/what-we-do/imaret/), a reliable and certified non-profit organisation (NGO) that conforms to MKN20 protocol to distribute the items to hospitals and ‘Klinik Kesihatan’ nationwide. No amount is small as your contribution will certainly help them to purchase the following items:200,000 units of PPE/ICU suits (sterile protective coverall)2 million units of 3-ply face masks100,000 units of face visors20,000 units of space suitsOther required medical equipmentFood & general suppliesYour support can make a big impact on them.Let's go digital and do something useful for the country and society!Let’s flatten the curve. #Kitajagakita #DigitalVsCovid How to Contribute:To Donate, click on the "Donate Now" button. India is going through a deadly COVID-19 inflicted crisis.Last week, an average of over 300,000 NEW cases per day were reported in India. With many more cases going unreported and an overwhelmed system that cannot keep up, the scale of which COVID-19 has ravished India is devastating to witness. To give you a scale of the urgency of donations required, UNICEF India has provided the following breakdowns:For RS 25,000 (MYR 1,393 / USD 338) x 533 donors = One Oxygen generation plantFor RS 12,500 (MYR 697 / USD 169) x 130 donors = One RT-PCRWith a healthcare system at breaking point, India is in desperate need of Thermal scanners, RT-PCR testing machines, nasal cannulas, oxygen concentrators, and oxygen generation plants. Let's do this for our colleagues, family, friends, and all those in India. All funds will be channelled to UNICEF India.
Help Us To Help 30 Childcare Centres & Pre-schools Serving Low Income Families In Terengganu & Pahang to restart and recover First the Pandemic, then the Flood. How Do We Recover? The extremely heavy monsoon rains pounded on the East Coast for a week until January 5, 2021. Not a good way to start the New Year for thousands of families and small busineses. One of those badly affected was the early childhood sector – childcare centres and pre-schools serving low income families in Terengganu and Pahang, in particular in the Districts of Kuantan, Temerloh, Kuala Lipis, Raub, and Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Kemaman in Terengganu. Childline Foundation has received an appeal from 30 childcare centre and pre-school operators providing essential childcare and early education to children of low income families. Some of them have suffered losses between RM5,000 - RM15,000.Destroyed by mud and debris, most suffered loss of furniture, learning materials, toys, and kitchen equipment and will now have to struggle to clean, re-equip and restart their community services. Already at breaking point and on the verge of closures due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions, they are hard pressed to recover without financial aid.Why must we help them to recover?Research has shown without a doubt that the first #1000Days and early years (below 6 years) are critical to children's wellbeing, because the early foundation in nutrition, health and brain development has profound impact on children’s current and future physical, language, cognitive and socio emotional wellbeing. In the poor rural and urban communities served by these 30 childcare centres and pre-schools, these centres and pre-schools are a lifeline for their parents who otherwise would not be able to go out to work. These children are at high risk of health and learning issues such as stunting, obesity, impaired learning disabilities and poor nutrition. Like all children elsewhere they have a right to access quality early childhood care and learning that will help them to grow and learn. Without your help to recover and restart, it is likely that these 30 centres will close or if they restart with no toys and learning resources, they will revert to custodial care which will severely impair the children's cognitive, language and overall development.Specifically the funds raised through your kind and generous donations will be utilised in the best interests of children and therefore we will be focused on providing each of the 30 centres and pre-schools with 3 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Boxes of learning materials, toys and essential hygiene sets for the children at these centres - namely the Infant and Toddler Play Box, the Toy Box for children 2-6 years old, and the Hygiene Box at RM1,500 per centre (RM500 per ECE Box). We therefore hope to reach a fundraising target of RM45,000 with this Recovery Flood Aid donation appeal. We will cover other costs related to procurement, packaging and transportation costs.Your kind and generous donation (any amount is never too small) will be used in the recovery process of these 30 centres and pre-schools so that they can continue to serve low income families and children. Childline Foundation and the Pahang and Terengganu Early Childhood Educators Associations would like to thank you in advance for your kind and generous donations. May God Bless You and Your Families and Keep You Safe in this Pandemic.Click the green "Donate Now" button to donate TODAY and help us share this page to others.Kind regards and heartfelt thanks!Datin PH Wong - Executive Director & Child Advocate, Childline Foundation Zubaidah Husin - Chairman, Pahang Early Childhood Educators AssociationWan Najmiyah bt Wan Mohd Yusof - President, Terengganu Pre-School Association
Thank you.

You helped us being able to provide food for 1 month for 20 families. We have updated the gallery with pictures of the results of your efforts.Thank you so much, for caring and sharing! - Wicked Good Indonesia - The Story of FloresWhen food is not a given anymore. When you do not know when you can give your 6 year old her next rice meal. When you cannot go out to find work, so she and your entire family of 9 can eat. This is the story of Flores, Indonesia. In one of the normally flourishing tourism towns. The streets are deserted, the supermarket is still open but empty, even the pasar, the local market where families sell their crops, is by no means the normal hustle and bustle of playing children, caring mothers, and a constant in and out of cars with fresh produce. For years the people of Flores (with almost 2 million inhabitants) have been drawn to the bustling gateway to Komodo National Park in the hope to find work in tourism and support families back in their villages. More and more people every year turn the Tourist dollar into food, homes, healthcare, schooling for siblings and financial security for their families. Last March this came to an abrupt halt. All tourists packed their backpacks and started on their long routes home. Businesses started closing one by one in the hope to survive until the tourists come back again. This left the people of Flores and their families stranded. No tourist means no income, and no income is no food for the many families, that are dependent on Tourism. What your can do: We have set up food packages, essentials like rice, oil, cabbage, coffee, drinking water and soap. Help us help the People of Flores. Donate today! With 500.000 Indonesian Rupiah, the equivalent of 30EUR a family of 4 can eat for 2 weeks. But also 10EUR gives relief to a family.Contact us, with ideas of finding income for a community that is highly dependent on tourism. Share your love for Komodo and this appeal for help. With our target amount of 5.000EUR we can help more then 80 families with food and essentials for a month. We are in our second month of our appeal, we aim to reach the same target! Thank you so much for all support, it means so much <3The Hero'sYou! You are a hero. You have helped the families in Flores. Thank you for caring & sharing. Our team of Wicked Good Indonesia is on a daily quest, gathering food, making packages and then distributing. Still considering the environment we live in, and keeping plastic usage to a minimum. It is great to see people paying it forward, our hardest workers, helping with the distributions, are some of the families we have helped first <3 For more information or questions send us a message [email protected] or [email protected] Wicked Good Indonesia is a registered Yayasan in Indonesia and a branch of Wicked Diving. Updates:1. 28th March: The Global Peace Malaysia team have changed the food relief amount from RM100 to RM50 worth of food per family in order to accommodate to more OA families. 2. 2nd April: With generous help from our donors and corporate sponsors, we have exceeded the initial fundraising amount of RM25,000! However, a growing number of OA villagers are still in dire need of food relief and have been requesting for help. Therefore, we are now increasing our fundraising target to RM50,000.3. 9th April: With your generosity and commitment to supporting our OA friends, we are excited to announce that we have exceeded our fundraising target of RM50,000! We are now increasing our fundraising target to RM100,000 to provide more food relief to those in need, benefitting a total of 2000 OA families. Although the MCO is scheduled to end on the 14th of April, we want to ensure that OA families have enough essential food to tide them over during the window period as they make the transition back to work. This will significantly ease the burden of OA villagers, allowing them to put food on the table and keep their funds afloat as they concentrate on getting back into work.4. 24th April: We are both excited and humbled to announce that we have exceeded our target of RM100,000! However, our work does not end here as the MCO has been extended yet again to the 12th of May. Although the 1st round of food aid has been distributed, many OA families are stretched thin from hanging on to food supplies that was meant to last for 2 weeks. As such, we are looking to raise a total of RM200,000 to provide for the 2nd round of food relief! For a full report on the #raiseforfood donation campaign, please click the link here: https://globalpeace.org.my/raiseforfood-donations-disbursements/In the days and weeks ahead, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO) will continue to present enormous challenges to the lives of underserved communities across Malaysia. With rising unemployment and income disruption, some of our most marginalized orang asli communities (OA) are receiving the greatest blow.Global Peace Foundation has been working with underserved OA communities in the Pekan and Rompin districts in Pahang since 2016. We have worked with over 70 villages on projects related to access to clean water, energy and education. Most of these communities that we work with are categorized as hardcore poor, earning as little as RM300-600/month on average. We are currently in touch with OA communities and have been told that some families are in dire need of food relief. As such, we are looking to fundraise RM200,000 to provide 4,000 sets of food relief for OA families. During these times of uncertainty, many of us are not able to do much other than to practice social distancing and stay at home. However, we can still support each other. Every little bit of help that you can give will provide immediate relief for those who are struggling and have been greatly impacted by this pandemic. The Issues Many OA villagers rely on ad-hoc work for income. Without any work, a majority of OA villagers will no longer be able to bear the expenses of purchasing essential items such as food. Many OA farmers' income are also be affected as they are now unable to sell products such as serai, petai and rubber due to the MCO.The SolutionProvide food relief for 4000 OA families. Each family will receive a total of RM50 worth of essential food that will last for up to two weeks.Essential food items include rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, bihun, biscuits and salt. The ImpactEnsure that 4000 OA families across Pahang will have enough food until the MCO is lifted.Provide 4000 families with some ease of mind during these trying times. Please help by either donating and/or sharing this plea to the public so that we may have enough to support our Malaysian brothers and sisters during this trying time.FAQs 1. Are you sending food relief directly to the OA villages? In order to comply with the MCO and avoid risk of infection, we will not be traveling to OA villages. Using our OA village database and contact with local community organizers, we have identified villages that are in dire need of assistance. We will then make orders to the closest or most frequented grocery store by the villagers. A village representative will then pick up the groceries from the store and distribute them in the village. 2. Will 100% of donations be accounted for? Transparency is of utmost importance to Global Peace Foundation Malaysia. 100% of the funds raised will be channeled as food relief for our beneficiaries. At the end of the campaign, an account will be reported to the public to show how the fund has been spent. For a full report on the #raiseforfood donation campaign, please click the link here: https://globalpeace.org.my/raiseforfood-donations-disbursements/3. What essential food will families receive? With RM50, each family will receive: x1 10kg Rice, x2 1kg Flour, x1 Sugar, x1 Cooking Oil, x2 Bihun, x1 Biscuits, x1 salt. This will provide enough food for one family for at least two weeks.4. Why are OA villagers fleeing into forests? Although the deadly Spanish flu swept through communities a century ago, the unknown nature of Covid-19 is striking similar fears among many OA communities. As such, they are moving into the forest to protect themselves and to search for food. However, due to deforestation, many OA villagers are faced with food insecurity.5. How can I help? You can help support our fellow Malaysian brothers and sisters by donating to our appeal on SimplyGiving or by sharing our plea to the public. Every single cent will be channeled to providing food relief for OA families.
Puan Zebadeh Binti Jali is a sweet spirited lady of friendly disposition who has seldom ventured out of her birth place of Banting, Selangor. At the age of 57 the relatively young grandmother to a grandson and a granddaughter has in addition brought into the world 2 adult sons and 2 adult daughters. Currently, she is staying with her youngest son and her mother in Banting. However, Puan Zebadeh’s movements are fairly limited as she cannot afford to be away from her home for long periods of time. Much that she will like to go visiting faraway places she is handicapped by the inconvenience of having to undergo haemodialysis on alternate days for three times a week with each time lasting three hours. On top of it, even after each session of dialysis treatment, she often feels worn out thereby leaving her with little or no energy for activities including cleaning the house and carrying out household chores. As you can see, Puan Zebedah’s 2 kidneys that are supposed to filter the wastes of her body have completely failed when she was 37 years of age after giving birth to her youngest son. This affliction further aggravated her family life as earlier while she was hale and hearty, her husband made up his mind to part with her and her children. She, thus, had to face the additional whammy to rely on the dialysis machine to survive for the natural course of her life unless there is the possibility of her receiving a matching donor kidney. Even then, when opportunity beckoned, she had to undergo a series of tests to determine the compatibility of her body system to a potential donor kidney. Sadly, her body was unable to withstand the rigours of the tests in Selayang Hospital with the result that the hospital authorities advised her that the option of a kidney transplant was out of the question. Under such disheartening circumstances, she was lucky to have the moral and financial support of her siblings. She used to work as factory worker near Klang before the chronic kidney disease caused her to stop working. For all the woes in her dialysis, she is very thankful to NKF for accommodating her in her dialysis treatment since 1997 with the staff of the dialysis centre treating her with much humility and professionalism. “I really appreciate the caring attitude of the NKF which often organises social gatherings to bring about greater social interaction amongst not only the patients and their families but also the staff members themselves. For more information, click at http://www.nkf.org.my, email to [email protected] or call 03-7954 9048

The Relentless FighterFrom the scorching hot Sahara Desert to the frigid Arctic circle, nothing stops Jeff Lau from running to raise fund for charity as well as bring about awareness on HIV/AIDS. The Red Ribbon Youth Icon has come a long way in making a name for himself in HIV/AIDS advocacy. Earlier this year he took part in the gruelling Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) Triple A Challenge, the Ultra Asia Race accompanied by Hezrina Hedzer, a 50-year-old home maker and proud grandmother as they ran a total of 160 km foot race across Vietnam. The DECA X AIDS ChallengeFor the Merdeka month of the year, just like how Malaysia gained its independence, Jeff Lau will be bearing the MAF flag representing Malaysia and the fight to end AIDS by participating in the Malaysian AIDS Foundation DEC X AIDS Challenge, the swissultra Deca Run in Switzerland. Jeff Lau hopes with his run he is able to shine more light unto the needs of youths in the awareness of practicing safer sex.The calling to do goodJeff Lau discovered his passion for running during his university years in Melbourne with sole purpose of maintaining fitness. It was not long until he wanted to give meaning to his passion in bringing positive change to the community. There on the suggestion of his friends, he participated in the 2014 Marathon des Sables to raise fund for the Malaysian AIDS Foundation. His life took an incredible twist when one of his dearest friends came out as HIV positive to him, after seeing him running for the cause. The event changed his perspective on HIV/AIDS and it fuelled his passion even more to be involved in charity with MAF and was soon appointed as the Red Ribbon Youth Ambassador. The 10 Positive StepsFor his latest challenge which is a step up from a marathon or better known as ultratriathlon, he hopes to gain more attention not so much for the ultratriathlon event itself but more on what people can do to be more aware, vigilant and proactive in practicing safe sex. Thus this campaign has a theme around the number 10 seeing that he would need to complete this challenge in 10 consecutive days. This became his aspiration based on his experience in Melbourne where he was able get access to high quality sexual healthcare even as a foreign student. He explained that the youth community there were well educated on sexual and reproductive health and took measures to avoid sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) and unplanned pregnancies.“The doctors in the STI Clinics were very friendly and encouraged the students to practice safer sex. They made us feel comfortable to talk about our health and even offer free condoms. They don’t discriminate you base on your race, religion, gender and sexuality,” Jeff Lau expressed his amazement on the quality service provided there. He also compared it to the situation in Malaysia, “Malaysia has a long way to go in providing good sexual and reproductive healthcare for our youths. STI friendly clinics are still limited and awareness on STIs and unplanned pregnancies are still low. We hear news on the rise of HIV infections and teen pregnancies amongst younger generations, this is the consequences we face when they are not equipped with knowledge about safer sex.”From 22nd to 31st of August, Jeff Lau will be subjected to one Ultratriathlon each day for 10 consecutive days which comprises of 3.8 kilometers swim, 180 kilometers bike and 42.2 kilometers run in Switzerland. Overall, he would need cover a total of 2260 kilometers.SUPPORT US!If you share Jeff’s compassion for bringing awareness about safer sex, please make a donation to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation. No matter how small or big the donation, every ringgit and cent counts. XUsed is a social enterprise with an application for people who want to earn extra income from selling their waste, such as used cooking oil, old newspapers and books, tin cans, bottles or glass. XUsed will connect the seller with potential buyers or waste collectors by providing the date and collection point for both parties. This app not only helps those in need of extra income but it also helps protect our environment through recycling waste products. XUsed has implemented its programme with 60 schools in 2018 under their “Earn to Learn @ School”, piloted with MCII. The programme helps students, teachers and schools gain financial benefits from recycling waste. Students can earn an average of RM50-RM100 per month from recycling waste from home. This has, in particular, provided underprivileged families with an additional source of household income and motivates the students to learn more about recycling waste and be environmentally conscious. Some schools have also “reinvested” the recycling proceeds back into improving its school facilities. XUsed currently has a pipeline of 200 schools that are interested in implementing “Earn to Learn @ School”. However, there is an initial start-up cost required for each school, to cover the following areas: Equipment (weighing machine and laptop)Marketing collateralsTraining and supportLogistic and waste collection set-up. XUsed is requesting a loan of RM15,000 to implement the programme in 5 new schools. They expect to repay the loan by October 2019.

The Batik Boutique is an award-winning social enterprise created to disrupt the cycle of poverty in Malaysia. We train women from low-income backgrounds to produce gifts and fashion accessories made from a traditional Malaysian fabric called batik. First, we work with artisan families in rural Malaysia where they create batik textiles on natural fibers. The artisans use layers of wax and dye to create the designs in a labour-intensive process. Next, women create ethical fashion and gift items with this fabric in our sewing training center. Today, more than 50 artisans work with The Batik Boutique to gain a fair, sustainable income and marketable skills. Each purchase directly benefits the artisan who made it. We are raising funds to expand our capacity to help more women and deliver better products to our clients. We are building a new sewing centre in Kota Damansara. Funds raised will be used to purchase sewing equipment and for basic renovation. Loan required: RM15,000. Loan will be repaid by December 2018.
Women of Will empowers disadvantaged women (B40) to initiate and sustain their own small businesses, rather than providing handouts. The women are given financial assistance (loan) of RM2000 to help them initiate small business ventures and attain an independent livelihood income. The amount is repaid on a weekly basis, interest-free. To help equip the women with the necessary skills to run their businesses, they are trained in an Entrepreneurial Development Program and taught the basics skills of managing a business, including financial management, marketing, and communications. Additionally, each woman is assigned a business coach and mentor for 6 -12 months to guide them and ensure that they have the support needed to develop a sustainable business, as well as help them lead balanced and wholesome lives. The average cost of delivering training is RM600 per woman, provided free of charge. To date Women Of Will has transformed the lives of 685 disadvantaged women in Malaysia. These women have received loans and started micro-enterprises with them. Based on our Impact Study conducted in 2015, on average each woman has seen an increase of 30% in their household income. Support women rice farmers in Cambodia through loans that will impact their livelihoods!Studies show that when smallholder women farmers have control of their family's income, they spend 90% of it on their families, and their children's health and nutrition improves. The Cambodian Community Savings Federation (CCSF) understands this well. Help us to empower women in Nepal create sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurial endeavours.TECH Outreach Malaysia is launching Phase II of its Savings and Credit Scheme for Women Headed Households in Nepal. Following the success of our first pilot project, where we disbursed microcredit loans to 17 women and saw significant impact in their lives, we are raising RM40,000 to assist another 20 women break the poverty cycle. Please support us generously! This is a loan that will be repaid to you by March 2019.We first went into Nepal in May 2014 with the microcredit scheme. The 17 women that were selected for the loans had made tremendous progress. They repaid the loans on a weekly basis over a period of 18 months, at 0% interest. The women started small businesses involved in tailoring, food stall, tea shops, vegetable stalls, cosmetics, jewellery and handicrafts. We conducted an impact study in September 2015. The results were amazing, as the women who were once helpless and dependent on handouts, were now running their own businesses, faced with "real" business issues such as marketing, sourcing for customers, keeping their accounts and repaying their loans. Most of these women are either war widows or separated from their husbands, and have young children to support. The Story of Anu TamangWhen TECH Outreach first met her, Anu was separated from her husband for 4 years and lived with her 3 children in a rented single room in a remote monestry in Kathmandu. She was working as an ad-hoc construction worker, while her 9 year old daughter took care of the two younger siblings. She could barely make ends meet and could not afford to send her children to school nor ensured they received at least one meal a day.She received a small loan from TECH Outreach, of NPR50,000 (~MYR2,000) to set up a tea shop cum hotel. She was able to run her business while looking after her children. She worked very hard and ran the shop from 6am - 8pm. Business was good, and she was able to pay her bills, repay her loan fully and even start to save. The TECH Outreach team met Anu and her children again. Her kids looked happy and healthy. Dear Reader, Many will say that slavery no longer exists, that the word is something confined to our history books, a reminder of past mistakes. However, just as history repeats itself, modern day slavery is a very real issue that the world faces today. The human trafficking industry is an enormous network that works discreetly, making it a complex and very difficult problem to tackle- and one that many people are unaware of.When faced with such an immense problem, we asked ourselves one question: "What is it that we can do as as people with the privilege of having a voice, to empower those who have struggled so long without one?"Out of this question, Green Light was born - through the joint initiative of a group of female high school students looking to pursue meaningful change in the lives of those subject to systematic abuse and exploitation. We hope that through sharing our message, you can find your own way of answering that question in your heads, by considering how you can take part in the empowerment of the over 40 million victims of trafficking worldwide. We are always looking for partners in this journey, and hope that you will consider joining our collective fight against human trafficking in the region of Thailand!- The Green Light TeamThe Hike for Freedom Anti-Trafficking CampaignIn our fight against trafficking in Thailand, Green Light is proud to present our Hike For Freedom, an anti-trafficking campaign developed to support vulnerable ethnic minority women at risk of trafficking and exploitation in Thailand. Through mobilising youth advocates, we will go on a trek for change! This campaign will be in collaboration with our partner organisation, the New Life Center Foundation, a non profit organisation located in the North of Thailand which aims to empower victims and those at risk of trafficking and exploitation within the Mekong sub-region through providing residences, education, capacity and job skills training for girls and young women looking to break out of the cycle of systematic abuse that they face. Initiated in 1987, the New Life Center Foundation has worked to provide legal, psychological, educational, and repatriation assistance to hundreds of girls and women from communities in need of assistance. They are a well established and widely recognised organisation that have worked in collaboration with partners including the Royal Thai Government and other international NGOs. The proceeds generated through Green Light's initiatives such as its Hike for Freedom will go towards funding programs run through the New Life Center to aid these young women in their education and capacity development. What is value? Is it the number of zeros on a price tag?Is it the worth of your car or your house or your clothes? What if that price tag was attached to your skin. What if that barcode was stamped on your face. What if you were a series of zeros, with a quantity but not an identity. What if they told you,‘You are valuable but not valued.’What if they told you,‘We like what we see but we can’t see you’ What if you were a means to an end, but your end was meaningless.Because that’s who she is. To them, she is a series of zeroes, stripped of meaning. To her, she is a rope, frayed on the edges, tied in a noose.- Written by Aashna Kammila, 17 years old, Green Light Co-founder

UPDATE : 28/06 Naeem, our Pakistani correspondent flew over to liaise with Pakistani clubs!UPDATE : 20/06 Training #1 over 350km cycled - we lost count how many joined us over 48hrs https://fb.watch/ecCyhbWgPo/UPDATE : 01/06 This page officially launchedASF https://www.ajmalsamuelfoundation.com promotes diversity and inclusion especially though physical engagement among the disabled and able bodied. Ajmal Samuel, the founder, is a prominent entrepreneur, national level sculling athlete and, for the past 35 years, a paraplegic. He is also totally into endurance sports! Following an amazing 'Krakin' thru China' fundraiser ride in 2019, that covered 2,315.17 km over 37 days, and in which Ajmal, along with other disabled riders, as well as with the able bodied, rode from Beijing to Mohe, a border town near the China-Russia border...Ajmal wants to do something similar again! So now we have the Kashgar 2 Karachi (K2K) endurance ride. In August this year, Ajmal and his team will hand-bike 31 days for more than 3,000km, from Kashgar, China to Karachi. Just as with the ‘Krakin’ ride, the riders will once again engage with local communities, disability associations and other help groups on every stop. They will once again share the inclusive message that disability is not about what one cannot do, but rather, it is about how together, challenges can be overcome. Videos and personal testimonies of those who took part will be the highlight! Ajmal and the team will also host workshops, camp fires, and other events where they will share their stories, and encourage both the disabled and the able bodied to leave stereotypes behind, embrace positivity and be active! K2K, like the ‘Krackin’ Trip is to build awareness for what disabled athletes, along with many others, can actually accomplish, while also giving back to the community. What the team learnt is that this is not just about overcoming physical challenges, but it is actually about sharing the feat with others: it is incredibly moving and inspiring, and even spiritually fulfilling for everyone involved. YOU can participate in this crazy ride too. You can witness their efforts online and help us FUNDRAISE ONLINE too. Funds raised will be earmarked for Direction Association for the Handicapped (DAH) https://www.4limb.org/en/. DAH is the ASF's beneficiary of choice as their mission and values closely align with that of the ASF. Since 1986, while they built a platform where members practiced the spirit of mutual-help and information sharing so members could re-integrate back into the broader community, they never stopped promoting physical activity amongst the wheelchair bound. This is exactly what ASF is striving for -- just take a look at the pictures below! It is no surprise that in 2022, DAH was named a partner in a HK$10million charitable program by the AIA Foundation. With another successful fundraising event, the Ajmal Samuel Foundation (ASF) plans to make this a signature annual project of the foundation. Who knows where and how far Ajmal and the team will go next year, or the year after, or even after that … The Ajmal Samuel Foundation (ASF) aims to make an impact fundraising for worthy charities and support a global effort to spread the message of inclusion for both the physically challenged and able bodied. It’s not just about being physical together, it is about setting achievable targets, going at it together for that noble, common cause --- anything is possible, together! Being disabled does not mean you do not get to enjoy life any less or achieve any lesser feats.
