In this “Off-the-Water Fitness Challenge”, divisional teams will compete head-to-head in a fitness game to see who gets the most points and raises the most money through rounds of push-ups, burpees, and dragon boat paddling on a rowing machine.Game rules: Round 1: Up to 3 members from each team will take turns to complete an aggregate of 60 push-ups. Teams will be ranked and scored according to the time they spend completing all push-ups, with the fastest team scoring 8 points and the slowest 1.! To increase the excitement to this challenge, from June 5 - June 21, employees can pledge below to influence the results, with your pledges determining the number of push-ups each team must complete!For every HKD 1,000 pledged, 10 extra push-ups will be added to that team's targetThe minimum pledge per person is HKD100 and can be increased in HKD100 incrementsThe maximum number of push-ups for each team is capped at 200Pledging will close at 9:30 a.m. (HKT) on Friday, June 21On-site at the event, teams will be given a chance to pledge and reduce the number of push-ups they have to completeRound 2: Up to 3 team members from each team will take turns to complete 60 burpees together, with each team ensuring that all 5 members have competed at least once across round 1 and round 2. Similar to round 1, the fastest team to complete all burpees will score 8 points and the slowest 1. The goal is to raise RM10,000 for a non-profit organization based in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Persatuan Kebajikan Wen Hua (registered under PPM-038-14-25112019).All funds raised (100%) will be given directly to the president of the welfare association for a bigger home expansion - if possible, we will bind the payment method directly to the welfare home's bank account. Walaa is a Palestinian mother of four, trying to escape the devastating genocide in Gaza. She was a refugee based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, living there for 10 years when she decided to visit her family in Gaza. Unfortunately during her visit, the events of 7th October happened. In the ensuing chaos and violence orchestrated by the IDF, her family home was bombed and destroyed, and she was forced to flee to the Deir el-Balah camp. She and her family are currently staying in temporary shelters, that lack the safety and security needed to protect themselves from the IDF's relentless aggression. On top of that, she is also pregnant and will soon require medical support. Walaa made her living in Malaysia by cooking and selling Palestinian food to locals, while her husband worked odd jobs to make ends meet. She wishes to return back to Malaysia where she and her family were safe from violence, gunfire and bombs. As the IDF are not allowing Palestinians to leave Gaza, in order to escape, Walaa and her family will need to make their way to the Rafah border, and from there, continue on to Cairo, Egypt where they hope to board a flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Your support is crucial in aiding this family as they seek refuge and the opportunity to rebuild their shattered lives amidst the ongoing horrors inflicted onto the Palestinian people. However in March 2023, it was found that the cancer had spread to his liver, and he went through a stronger dose of chemotherapy and later on in July 2023, had surgery that removed 25% of his liver. In December 2023, a CT scan and blood tests did not show any signs of alarm. However in May 2024, another CT scan and blood test showed significant deterioration in his liver and that the cancer cells had spread to his lungs. The doctor diagnosed him with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and informed him that without treatment, he has only 3 - 6 months to live. How Funds Raised Will Be UsedRubel hopes to raise $91,200 Singapore Dollars for the following:$18,000 - Living expenses for Rubel and his family for approximately 12 months ($1,500 per month), including costs of accommodation and transport to India for his Chemotherapy$30,000 - for two sessions of a stronger dose of Chemotherapy per month (up to 6 months) to prolong his life so he can have more time with his family. The doctors in Singapore estimate a cost of $2,500 per session, inclusive of CT scan and blood tests, but this amount is likely to amount to 12 months of treatment in India, where he will be seeking treatment. Rubel is unable to produce a cost estimate for this at the moment, but he will have one once he has a first consultation with the doctor in India.$43,200 - Help his family with 2-year of replacement income and build up some savings in the event of his passing. Rubel currently earns $1,800 per month (see screenshot below). An acquaintance mentioned that one of his staff needed a new refrigerator but was unable to afford one. I decided to just give it away to the family. When I went over to deliver it, I was shocked by what I saw, even from the outside. I asked if the family would allow me to take a look inside their house as the movers carried the refrigerator in. We then had a short chat.The FamilyMrs Chin (Koo Yok Kion), 53, works as a kitchen helper and earns just over RM40 a day. She rides to work on a bicycle as the old Proton Saga in the driveway is beyond repair. She works in order to support her husband, now 63, and young son, soon turning 13. Mr Chin used to work as a factory worker, but after having a stroke years ago, he has since developed problems with his vision and now requires a walking stick to get around. Mr Chin has been unable to find another job at a factory since. Their son, Ming, will be starting secondary school next year and is a straight-A student. Both father and son have biscuits or noodles for lunch when Mrs Chin is at work during the weekdays. In the evening, Mrs Chin brings home leftover rice and a simple dish from the restaurant or two boxes of takeaway mixed rice shared between the three of them. With barely enough money for themselves after paying the bills and Mr Chin’s hypertension medication, it was unlikely that they would be able to save enough money to fix the house in any capacity.The BuildingA front door hanging off its hinges. Wooden walls ravaged by termites. A rusty tin roof with large sections blown away over the years. Water gets in when it rains, as mould-ridden stains mark the ceiling throughout the house. In some rooms, planks of wood are positioned as makeshift support beams to keep the roof from falling, but parts of the house were already crumbling. Last year, Ming had been infected with dengue, possibly a result of all the openings to the outside throughout the house and windows without netting, exposing the family to mosquitos.The Follow-upI visited the Chin family a week later to help the family move and dispose of all broken and unused items from the house with a group of friends. One of them was a contractor who, after going through the house, said that one section could be renovated and be made safe to live in as it had stable concrete walls. The rest of the house was unsalvageable. However, while he was willing to do the renovation at cost price, he would not be able to bear the full expense. This is where I come to you, dear reader, to perhaps consider contributing towards the renovation cost. Ultimately, what we hope to achieve is to provide the Chin family a safe space to live in.This building might look like a house, but will you help us make it a home? Recent ConcernsSince starting this campaign, we have received questions regarding the house and land ownership. Please be assured that we are also working together with legal advisors who are willing to help pro bono, so the Chin family may continue to stay on this piece of land. With regards to house ownership, it was passed down from Mr Chin’s grandmother to himself and his brother. However, around 20 years ago, Mr Chin’s brother had passed away. His then sister-in law remarried soon after and changed her and her children’s last name. There was one day when Mr Chin’s sister paid a visit, but only to ask for a share of the land. Mr Chin requested that she change back her children’s last name to Chin before discussing any further, but she declined this request. She has since never visited the Chin family again and has decidedly moved on. While this story has its fair share of family drama, at the end of the day, our main priority is to help provide a safe living space for the Chin family.
Ruck, Catherine, Andy and Matt are going to attempt to complete the 100km MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong on February 5th. 100km feels quite a long way - especially when matched with over 4,366m elevation - similar to that of hiking from sea level to the Matterhorn in the Alps! We will complete the full 100km together, starting early morning on February 5th 2021 and finishing in the early hours of the next day. Charities and those whom rely on their generosity have been some of the hardest hit due to Covid-19. So we are raising funds for 2 local charities in Hong Kong, Mind HK and Mother's Choice, that are close to our hearts, with donations raised split equally between them. We are hugely grateful for any contributions people feel comfortable giving. According to Mind HK's research (September 2020) , over 50% of Hong Kong residents believe their mental worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic . Money raised through this campaign will support the translation and adaptation of resources on mental health during COVID-19. This is to ensure we can get timely and relevant information to individuals to help them manage their mental health through the pandemic.The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has also created a large hole in Mother's Choice traditional fundraising activities. It will continually need funds to keep its doors open to support those who need help most - vulnerable children without families and pregnant teenagers in HK. We want to support Mother's Choice vision, which is "to see every child in a loving family". Funds donated here will also be used to purchase mosquito repellent machines, and cots with mattresses for their Child Care Home. Our good friend, family member and colleague Maks has had a tragic motorbike accident in Phuket Thailand on 30th July 2019. He suffered Traumatic Brain Injury called "Severe Diffuse Axonal Injury" and has been in a coma ever since at Vachira hospital in Phuket. He was in ICU for 20 of those days.Currently, His health is stable but is still on a breathing machine.His family have flew over and have been by his side during this difficult time of his life.They are now trying every effort to come up with the funds to bring him back home where they can be by his side and provide him with the care he needs until such time as he wakes up. FlowerPower is a new non-profit that aims to repurpose flowers after wedding/events and deliver them to less well-off individuals and communities.Our aim is to bring joy and positive energy to the community by repurposing flowers from large events e.g. weddings or corporate functions. We collect flowers, repackage them into mini-bouquets and deliver them to those who need it most (e.g. nursing homes, women's shelters and disadvantaged communities), thereby enhancing mental wellness as well as reducing waste.Why flowers? Flowers are important in enhancing mental wellness. We all know that flowers naturally bring positive energy: they look pretty, smell good and they brighten our physical environment, making us feel more comfortable. However, flowers actually operate on a deeper brain chemical level too! Studies have shown that flowers increase levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain - which are the exact same chemicals targeted by antidepressants. There is also evidence that flowers reduce anxiety, encourage social interaction and improve memory function. Historically, they have been a symbol of love and affection, and flowers trigger these happy memories. This is a triathlon race which consists of swimming for 1.9km, then cycling for 90km and running a half-marathon in a row. According to National Cancer Registry Report 2012-2016, the risk of males getting cancer is 1 in 10 and for females is 1 in 9. The National Cancer Society of Malaysia (Persatuan Kanser Kebangsaan Malaysia), (NCSM), is the first not-for-profit cancer organisation in Malaysia that provides education, care and support services for people affected by cancer and the general public.Established in 1966, NCSM is a tax-exempt charity body registered under the laws of the Malaysian Societies Act and Registrar of Societies Malaysia. Due to the pandemic, NCSM services is greatly affected due to lack of funding. During COVID19 pandemic, MFMW has assisted over 300 migrant domestic workers to find free temporary accommodation. Now, with the increased demand caused by the pandemic and the much-needed free shelters full, suitable and decent accommodation which is affordable for migrant domestic workers has become very difficult to find. Recent news report have highlighted the overcrowded and dangerous living conditions which many migrant workers must suffer as they have nowhere else to go. We are supporting migrant domestic workers in need, especially those who contracts are terminated and abandoned due to the COVID 19 pandemic, those who are waiting to receive their labour compensation, those who are in between jobs and those who are stranded in Hong Kong. To date, we have provided rent support to nearly 20 workers, but there are hundreds more that need our- and your- help. It costs $400 to sponsor 1 worker for accommodation and food for one week. $50,000 will support 30 workers to stay in Hong Kong for 1 month. We appeal for your help to house and feed this vulnerable and valued group within our community during the COVID19 pandemic. Please help- any amount you can give will be most gratefully received.

Thank you all so much!We (a few friends of Rubel) are raising $91,200 to support Fazly Elahi Rubel, a migrant worker in Singapore who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.Cancer DiagnosisUnfortunately in 2022, Rubel was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer and thankfully after a series of chemotherapy and surgery, the cancer seemed to be in remission as he recovered. However in March 2023, it was found that the cancer had spread to his liver, and he went through a stronger dose of chemotherapy and later on in July 2023, had surgery that removed 25% of his liver. In December 2023, a CT scan and blood tests did not show any signs of alarm. However in May 2024, another CT scan and blood test showed significant deterioration in his liver and that the cancer cells had spread to his lungs. The doctor diagnosed him with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and informed him that without treatment, he has only 3 - 6 months to live. How Funds Raised Will Be UsedRubel hopes to raise $91,200 Singapore Dollars for the following:$18,000 - Living expenses for Rubel and his family for approximately 12 months ($1,500 per month), including costs of accommodation and transport to India for his Chemotherapy$30,000 - for two sessions of a stronger dose of Chemotherapy per month (up to 6 months) to prolong his life so he can have more time with his family. The doctors in Singapore estimate a cost of $2,500 per session, inclusive of CT scan and blood tests, but this amount is likely to amount to 12 months of treatment in India, where he will be seeking treatment. Rubel is unable to produce a cost estimate for this at the moment, but he will have one once he has a first consultation with the doctor in India.$43,200 - Help his family with 2-year of replacement income and build up some savings in the event of his passing. An acquaintance mentioned that one of his staff needed a new refrigerator but was unable to afford one. I decided to just give it away to the family. When I went over to deliver it, I was shocked by what I saw, even from the outside. I asked if the family would allow me to take a look inside their house as the movers carried the refrigerator in. We then had a short chat.The FamilyMrs Chin (Koo Yok Kion), 53, works as a kitchen helper and earns just over RM40 a day. She rides to work on a bicycle as the old Proton Saga in the driveway is beyond repair. She works in order to support her husband, now 63, and young son, soon turning 13. Mr Chin used to work as a factory worker, but after having a stroke years ago, he has since developed problems with his vision and now requires a walking stick to get around. Mr Chin has been unable to find another job at a factory since. Their son, Ming, will be starting secondary school next year and is a straight-A student. Both father and son have biscuits or noodles for lunch when Mrs Chin is at work during the weekdays. In the evening, Mrs Chin brings home leftover rice and a simple dish from the restaurant or two boxes of takeaway mixed rice shared between the three of them. With barely enough money for themselves after paying the bills and Mr Chin’s hypertension medication, it was unlikely that they would be able to save enough money to fix the house in any capacity.The BuildingA front door hanging off its hinges. Wooden walls ravaged by termites. A rusty tin roof with large sections blown away over the years. Water gets in when it rains, as mould-ridden stains mark the ceiling throughout the house. In some rooms, planks of wood are positioned as makeshift support beams to keep the roof from falling, but parts of the house were already crumbling. Last year, Ming had been infected with dengue, possibly a result of all the openings to the outside throughout the house and windows without netting, exposing the family to mosquitos.The Follow-upI visited the Chin family a week later to help the family move and dispose of all broken and unused items from the house with a group of friends. One of them was a contractor who, after going through the house, said that one section could be renovated and be made safe to live in as it had stable concrete walls. The rest of the house was unsalvageable. However, while he was willing to do the renovation at cost price, he would not be able to bear the full expense. This is where I come to you, dear reader, to perhaps consider contributing towards the renovation cost. Ultimately, what we hope to achieve is to provide the Chin family a safe space to live in.This building might look like a house, but will you help us make it a home? Recent ConcernsSince starting this campaign, we have received questions regarding the house and land ownership. Please be assured that we are also working together with legal advisors who are willing to help pro bono, so the Chin family may continue to stay on this piece of land. With regards to house ownership, it was passed down from Mr Chin’s grandmother to himself and his brother. However, around 20 years ago, Mr Chin’s brother had passed away. His then sister-in law remarried soon after and changed her and her children’s last name. There was one day when Mr Chin’s sister paid a visit, but only to ask for a share of the land. Mr Chin requested that she change back her children’s last name to Chin before discussing any further, but she declined this request. She has since never visited the Chin family again and has decidedly moved on. While this story has its fair share of family drama, at the end of the day, our main priority is to help provide a safe living space for the Chin family.
Help Us To Help 30 Childcare Centres & Pre-schools Serving Low Income Families In Terengganu & Pahang to restart and recover First the Pandemic, then the Flood. How Do We Recover?The extremely heavy monsoon rains pounded on the East Coast for a week until January 5, 2021. Not a good way to start the New Year for thousands of families and small busineses. One of those badly affected was the early childhood sector – childcare centres and pre-schools serving low income families in Terengganu and Pahang, in particular in the Districts of Kuantan, Temerloh, Kuala Lipis, Raub, and Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Kemaman in Terengganu. Childline Foundation has received an appeal from 30 childcare centre and pre-school operators providing essential childcare and early education to children of low income families. Some of them have suffered losses between RM5,000 - RM15,000.Destroyed by mud and debris, most suffered loss of furniture, learning materials, toys, and kitchen equipment and will now have to struggle to clean, re-equip and restart their community services. Already at breaking point and on the verge of closures due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions, they are hard pressed to recover without financial aid.Why must we help them to recover?Research has shown without a doubt that the first #1000Days and early years (below 6 years) are critical to children's wellbeing, because the early foundation in nutrition, health and brain development has profound impact on children’s current and future physical, language, cognitive and socio emotional wellbeing.In the poor rural and urban communities served by these 30 childcare centres and pre-schools, these centres and pre-schools are a lifeline for their parents who otherwise would not be able to go out to work. These children are at high risk of health and learning issues such as stunting, obesity, impaired learning disabilities and poor nutrition. Like all children elsewhere they have a right to access quality early childhood care and learning that will help them to grow and learn. Without your help to recover and restart, it is likely that these 30 centres will close or if they restart with no toys and learning resources, they will revert to custodial care which will severely impair the children's cognitive, language and overall development.Specifically the funds raised through your kind and generous donations will be utilised in the best interests of children and therefore we will be focused on providing each of the 30 centres and pre-schools with 3 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Boxes of learning materials, toys and essential hygiene sets for the children at these centres - namely the Infant and Toddler Play Box, the Toy Box for children 2-6 years old, and the Hygiene Box at RM1,500 per centre (RM500 per ECE Box). We therefore hope to reach a fundraising target of RM45,000 with this Recovery Flood Aid donation appeal. Ruck, Catherine, Andy and Matt are going to attempt to complete the 100km MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong on February 5th. 100km feels quite a long way - especially when matched with over 4,366m elevation - similar to that of hiking from sea level to the Matterhorn in the Alps! We will complete the full 100km together, starting early morning on February 5th 2021 and finishing in the early hours of the next day. Charities and those whom rely on their generosity have been some of the hardest hit due to Covid-19. So we are raising funds for 2 local charities in Hong Kong, Mind HK and Mother's Choice, that are close to our hearts, with donations raised split equally between them. We are hugely grateful for any contributions people feel comfortable giving. According to Mind HK's research (September 2020) , over 50% of Hong Kong residents believe their mental worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic . Update June 30thSlowly news is coming out on re-openening Komodo National Park. This is expected to go in phases; the first fase the local people that have been in the area the whole time, 2nd phase domestic tourist, and third phase international tourist. We hope this process will start businesses openening up again, and employment coming back. It will take a while, for the economy to stabilise itself. The streets are deserted, the supermarket is still open but empty, even the pasar, the local market where families sell their crops, is by no means the normal hustle and bustle of playing children, caring mothers, and a constant in and out of cars with fresh produce.For years the people of Flores (with almost 2 million inhabitants) have been drawn to the bustling gateway to Komodo National Park in the hope to find work in tourism and support families back in their villages. More and more people every year turn the Tourist dollar into food, homes, healthcare, schooling for siblings and financial security for their families. Last March this came to an abrupt halt. All tourists packed their backpacks and started on their long routes home. Businesses started closing one by one in the hope to survive until the tourists come back again. This left the people of Flores and their families stranded. No tourist means no income, and no income is no food for the many families, that are dependent on Tourism. With rising unemployment and income disruption, some of our most marginalized orang asli communities (OA) are receiving the greatest blow.Global Peace Foundation has been working with underserved OA communities in the Pekan and Rompin districts in Pahang since 2016. We have worked with over 70 villages on projects related to access to clean water, energy and education. Most of these communities that we work with are categorized as hardcore poor, earning as little as RM300-600/month on average. We are currently in touch with OA communities and have been told that some families are in dire need of food relief. As such, we are looking to fundraise RM200,000 to provide 4,000 sets of food relief for OA families. During these times of uncertainty, many of us are not able to do much other than to practice social distancing and stay at home. However, we can still support each other. Every little bit of help that you can give will provide immediate relief for those who are struggling and have been greatly impacted by this pandemic.The Issues Many OA villagers rely on ad-hoc work for income. Without any work, a majority of OA villagers will no longer be able to bear the expenses of purchasing essential items such as food. Puan Zebadeh Binti Jali is a sweet spirited lady of friendly disposition who has seldom ventured out of her birth place of Banting, Selangor. At the age of 57 the relatively young grandmother to a grandson and a granddaughter has in addition brought into the world 2 adult sons and 2 adult daughters. Currently, she is staying with her youngest son and her mother in Banting. However, Puan Zebadeh’s movements are fairly limited as she cannot afford to be away from her home for long periods of time. Much that she will like to go visiting faraway places she is handicapped by the inconvenience of having to undergo haemodialysis on alternate days for three times a week with each time lasting three hours. On top of it, even after each session of dialysis treatment, she often feels worn out thereby leaving her with little or no energy for activities including cleaning the house and carrying out household chores. As you can see, Puan Zebedah’s 2 kidneys that are supposed to filter the wastes of her body have completely failed when she was 37 years of age after giving birth to her youngest son. This affliction further aggravated her family life as earlier while she was hale and hearty, her husband made up his mind to part with her and her children. She, thus, had to face the additional whammy to rely on the dialysis machine to survive for the natural course of her life unless there is the possibility of her receiving a matching donor kidney. Even then, when opportunity beckoned, she had to undergo a series of tests to determine the compatibility of her body system to a potential donor kidney. Sadly, her body was unable to withstand the rigours of the tests in Selayang Hospital with the result that the hospital authorities advised her that the option of a kidney transplant was out of the question. Under such disheartening circumstances, she was lucky to have the moral and financial support of her siblings. She used to work as factory worker near Klang before the chronic kidney disease caused her to stop working. Our good friend, family member and colleague Maks has had a tragic motorbike accident in Phuket Thailand on 30th July 2019. He suffered Traumatic Brain Injury called "Severe Diffuse Axonal Injury" and has been in a coma ever since at Vachira hospital in Phuket. He was in ICU for 20 of those days.Currently, His health is stable but is still on a breathing machine.His family have flew over and have been by his side during this difficult time of his life.They are now trying every effort to come up with the funds to bring him back home where they can be by his side and provide him with the care he needs until such time as he wakes up. The hospital issued a travel clearance for him but he will be needing a full medical team and equipment to travel back home.The amount to bring him back home will be around $40k plus around $20k in hospital bills. We are seeking to raise the money for Maks and his family and would greatly appreciate any financial support that can be given.
FlowerPower is a new non-profit that aims to repurpose flowers after wedding/events and deliver them to less well-off individuals and communities.Our aim is to bring joy and positive energy to the community by repurposing flowers from large events e.g. weddings or corporate functions. We collect flowers, repackage them into mini-bouquets and deliver them to those who need it most (e.g. nursing homes, women's shelters and disadvantaged communities), thereby enhancing mental wellness as well as reducing waste.Why flowers? Flowers are important in enhancing mental wellness. We all know that flowers naturally bring positive energy: they look pretty, smell good and they brighten our physical environment, making us feel more comfortable. However, flowers actually operate on a deeper brain chemical level too! Studies have shown that flowers increase levels of dopamine and serotonin in the brain - which are the exact same chemicals targeted by antidepressants. There is also evidence that flowers reduce anxiety, encourage social interaction and improve memory function. Historically, they have been a symbol of love and affection, and flowers trigger these happy memories. XUsed is a social enterprise with an application for people who want to earn extra income from selling their waste, such as used cooking oil, old newspapers and books, tin cans, bottles or glass. XUsed will connect the seller with potential buyers or waste collectors by providing the date and collection point for both parties. This app not only helps those in need of extra income but it also helps protect our environment through recycling waste products. XUsed has implemented its programme with 60 schools in 2018 under their “Earn to Learn @ School”, piloted with MCII. The programme helps students, teachers and schools gain financial benefits from recycling waste. Students can earn an average of RM50-RM100 per month from recycling waste from home. This has, in particular, provided underprivileged families with an additional source of household income and motivates the students to learn more about recycling waste and be environmentally conscious. Some schools have also “reinvested” the recycling proceeds back into improving its school facilities. XUsed currently has a pipeline of 200 schools that are interested in implementing “Earn to Learn @ School”. However, there is an initial start-up cost required for each school, to cover the following areas: Equipment (weighing machine and laptop)Marketing collateralsTraining and supportLogistic and waste collection set-up. XUsed is requesting a loan of RM15,000 to implement the programme in 5 new schools. They expect to repay the loan by October 2019.

We have trained and worked with close to 50 single mothers and ladies from poor families. Simply Cookies was formed in 2014 to empower single mothers to balance financial independence and motherhood. We provide job opportunities for single mothers and train them to climb up the corporate ladder too. With this, we are looking to borrow money of RM30,000 for us to invest in buying the ingredients, paying for packaging, collaterals and salary throughout the 18 days. Our aim is to expose Malaysian flavor and Malaysian brand to ASEAN. At the same time, we want to provide job opportunities to the underprivileged community.With this project, we will be able to provide job opportunities to 20 single mothers and the underprivileged community. Foodabox is a social enterprise that provides food operators the access to cheaper eco-friendly food boxes via food box advertising. By selling advertising spaces on food boxes and using the revenue to defray costs, we're able to help food operators in Malaysia to replace the harmful polystyrene food boxes. Approximately 85 tonnes of polystyrene waste are disposed every day. Imagine if 10% can be replaced by eco-friendly boxes….. That is exactly what we are going to do! Saving the environment, one box at a time. Introducing the My Unity Box Project These unique set of eco-friendly boxes are designed to engaged with the multicultural and multiracial society of our beautiful Malaysia. Through social media, we will encourage Malaysians to post photos and tell us about what they love about being Malaysians. These photos will be compiled and printed onto our eco-friendly boxes and distributed at food stalls. This is a fun way to celebrate racial harmony and celebrate the environment! Watch this space!! The Batik Boutique is an award-winning social enterprise created to disrupt the cycle of poverty in Malaysia. We train women from low-income backgrounds to produce gifts and fashion accessories made from a traditional Malaysian fabric called batik. First, we work with artisan families in rural Malaysia where they create batik textiles on natural fibers. The artisans use layers of wax and dye to create the designs in a labour-intensive process. Next, women create ethical fashion and gift items with this fabric in our sewing training center. Today, more than 50 artisans work with The Batik Boutique to gain a fair, sustainable income and marketable skills. Each purchase directly benefits the artisan who made it. We are raising funds to expand our capacity to help more women and deliver better products to our clients. We are building a new sewing centre in Kota Damansara. Funds raised will be used to purchase sewing equipment and for basic renovation. Loan required: RM15,000. Loan will be repaid by December 2018.
Women of Will empowers disadvantaged women (B40) to initiate and sustain their own small businesses, rather than providing handouts. The women are given financial assistance (loan) of RM2000 to help them initiate small business ventures and attain an independent livelihood income. The amount is repaid on a weekly basis, interest-free. To help equip the women with the necessary skills to run their businesses, they are trained in an Entrepreneurial Development Program and taught the basics skills of managing a business, including financial management, marketing, and communications. Additionally, each woman is assigned a business coach and mentor for 6 -12 months to guide them and ensure that they have the support needed to develop a sustainable business, as well as help them lead balanced and wholesome lives. The average cost of delivering training is RM600 per woman, provided free of charge. To date Women Of Will has transformed the lives of 685 disadvantaged women in Malaysia. These women have received loans and started micro-enterprises with them. Based on our Impact Study conducted in 2015, on average each woman has seen an increase of 30% in their household income. We continue to support our beneficiaries by coaching them and providing them with additional skills training, entrepreneurship training, networking opportunities and events where they may sell their products. RM20,000 could fund 9-10 women entrepreneurs that are looking for 2nd term loans that will help expand their micro-businesses. Loans will be repaid by December 2018.
Support women rice farmers in Cambodia through loans that will impact their livelihoods!Studies show that when smallholder women farmers have control of their family's income, they spend 90% of it on their families, and their children's health and nutrition improves.The Cambodian Community Savings Federation (CCSF) understands this well. As 73% of the loans they provide support women, and 53% are for agriculture use. Education for their children is often cited as one of the biggest priorities for the families of their beneficiaries. These women want their children to have employment opportunities beyond farming.The farming businesses created by these women also helps strengthen the local economy through critical job creation. Women are important partners in farming. They help provide for the family. These are strong women, in strength and in spirit! They can inspire the next generation as well as other women in the community to work themselves out of the poverty cycle.This is a group loan for 5 Cambodian women farmers. We are raising USD5,000, to be repaid by June 2018.Help us empower mothers like Reatrey, a 28 year old who has been a farmer for 8 years, and have a 6 year old son; or Sineth Sao, a 36 year old, providing for 5 kids; or 34-year old Sokrana with 3 kids; or Mrs Hak Phin who is 55 and have farmed for over 20 years! There are many others that work non-stop and deserves this opportunity to build a better life for their families and local communities.

We have great admiration for her “never too late” attitude! Kartika, aged 27, works in an office. She is not married. She is taking out a loan of IDR6,000,000 (~USD460) for her university fees. She is also studying for a Business degree, and attends classes in the evenings and on Saturdays. Please help us change lives by supporting this loan. Help us to empower women in Nepal create sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurial endeavours.TECH Outreach Malaysia is launching Phase II of its Savings and Credit Scheme for Women Headed Households in Nepal. Following the success of our first pilot project, where we disbursed microcredit loans to 17 women and saw significant impact in their lives, we are raising RM40,000 to assist another 20 women break the poverty cycle. Please support us generously! This is a loan that will be repaid to you by March 2019.We first went into Nepal in May 2014 with the microcredit scheme. The 17 women that were selected for the loans had made tremendous progress. They repaid the loans on a weekly basis over a period of 18 months, at 0% interest. The women started small businesses involved in tailoring, food stall, tea shops, vegetable stalls, cosmetics, jewellery and handicrafts. We conducted an impact study in September 2015. The results were amazing, as the women who were once helpless and dependent on handouts, were now running their own businesses, faced with "real" business issues such as marketing, sourcing for customers, keeping their accounts and repaying their loans. Most of these women are either war widows or separated from their husbands, and have young children to support.The Story of Anu TamangWhen TECH Outreach first met her, Anu was separated from her husband for 4 years and lived with her 3 children in a rented single room in a remote monestry in Kathmandu. She was working as an ad-hoc construction worker, while her 9 year old daughter took care of the two younger siblings. She could barely make ends meet and could not afford to send her children to school nor ensured they received at least one meal a day.She received a small loan from TECH Outreach, of NPR50,000 (~MYR2,000) to set up a tea shop cum hotel. She was able to run her business while looking after her children. She worked very hard and ran the shop from 6am - 8pm. Business was good, and she was able to pay her bills, repay her loan fully and even start to save. The TECH Outreach team met Anu and her children again. Her kids looked happy and healthy. Seeing Anu's changed circumstances and demeanor was an inspiration to all in the team!Help us empower more women like Anu to build a better life for themselves and their families!
Sineth is 36 years old, and farms in Thmor Korl District of Battambang Province. She has five kids, aged between 8 and 21 years who live with her. She is taking out a loan as working capital for her farm. She expects to pay the loan back within 12 months.Sineth has been farming rice on around 14 hectares of land to grow dry season rice. With dry-season rice, she can harvest the crops twice a year which yields around four tons per hectare for sale on market demand. The local trader will buy all of her crops from her home at harvest. She has used her own tractor to plough the land for over ten years, saving costs and increasing efficiency. As her farming activities has been stable, Sineth wants to improve her working capital by taking out a loan to purchase some seeds, insecticide, weed killer, commercial fertilizer, diesel for tractor and cover harvesting cost during collection of crops. She expects to pay loan back within 12 months.

As a school that serves a small island community, we have a team of staff and students who are dedicated to raising money for our four chosen local charities. Hi everyone, as part of our IGCSE Global Perspective Team Project, a group of Junior 2 students from Cempaka International Schools, Damansara, consisting of Rachel, Summer, Tulsi and Tze Wey, decided to start a project named Kids Help Kids. During these unprecedented times, many less fortunate children have not been able to receive proper education due to the lack of fundings to access online education. We aim to aid children in several orphanages around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Malaysia through fundraising activities, as well as spread awareness about the lack of accessibility to quality online education.

Through mobilising youth advocates, we will go on a trek for change! This campaign will be in collaboration with our partner organisation, the New Life Center Foundation, a non profit organisation located in the North of Thailand which aims to empower victims and those at risk of trafficking and exploitation within the Mekong sub-region through providing residences, education, capacity and job skills training for girls and young women looking to break out of the cycle of systematic abuse that they face. Initiated in 1987, the New Life Center Foundation has worked to provide legal, psychological, educational, and repatriation assistance to hundreds of girls and women from communities in need of assistance. They are a well established and widely recognised organisation that have worked in collaboration with partners including the Royal Thai Government and other international NGOs. The proceeds generated through Green Light's initiatives such as its Hike for Freedom will go towards funding programs run through the New Life Center to aid these young women in their education and capacity development. The main objective of this program is to help the students of TU to create English active learning between the Thaksin students in term of communication and student involvement. Ajmal Samuel, the founder, is a prominent entrepreneur, national level sculling athlete and, for the past 35 years, a paraplegic. He is also totally into endurance sports! Following an amazing 'Krakin' thru China' fundraiser ride in 2019, that covered 2,315.17 km over 37 days, and in which Ajmal, along with other disabled riders, as well as with the able bodied, rode from Beijing to Mohe, a border town near the China-Russia border...Ajmal wants to do something similar again! So now we have the Kashgar 2 Karachi (K2K) endurance ride. In August this year, Ajmal and his team will hand-bike 31 days for more than 3,000km, from Kashgar, China to Karachi. Just as with the ‘Krakin’ ride, the riders will once again engage with local communities, disability associations and other help groups on every stop. They will once again share the inclusive message that disability is not about what one cannot do, but rather, it is about how together, challenges can be overcome. Videos and personal testimonies of those who took part will be the highlight! Ajmal and the team will also host workshops, camp fires, and other events where they will share their stories, and encourage both the disabled and the able bodied to leave stereotypes behind, embrace positivity and be active! K2K, like the ‘Krackin’ Trip is to build awareness for what disabled athletes, along with many others, can actually accomplish, while also giving back to the community. What the team learnt is that this is not just about overcoming physical challenges, but it is actually about sharing the feat with others: it is incredibly moving and inspiring, and even spiritually fulfilling for everyone involved. Since our inception we have provided Employment and Economic Enabling trainings to 110 Visually, Physically and Mentally Impaired youths and adults. Renovating on and in partnership with the renown Dialogue Experiential Learning Programs and Exhibitions by Dialogue SE Germany which included Dialogue in the Dark that has been around since 1988, impacted more than 13 million visitors, provided trainings and employment to thousands of PWDs thru its DiD partners located in 24 countries globally. Our Academy also provides our PWD trainees further Enabling programmes in Call Agent, Urban Farming, Café Barista, Aromatherapy, Online Education Tutor and Coach ,Cooking and Baking and in the Arts and Music in collaborations with other Partners. In 2016, with the support of Sasbadi Online, the country's largest Education Provider provided sponsored Online tuition aid and coaching to 160 Visually and Hearing Impaired students studying in 11 Special and Mix Public Schools nationwide. In 2018 our learning program was extended to offering Accessible Dance and Music lessons from Sound Beam UK for Children and Youths stricken with Multiple Disabilities. The Academy not only uses and offers Dialogue in the Dark as an Interaction and Foundation training for the Visually Impaired; the Academy also offers Dialogue Games Interactive Trainings for the Physically Impaired and also hopefully by 2022, Dialogue in Silence Interactive Trainings for the Hearing and Speech Impaired. All of our PWD trainees will undergo a period of 3-6 months of paid Dialogue Interactive Trainings before moving them into the various Entrepreneur Trainings that will upon their graduation provide them the respective Job and/or Entrepreneur Opportunities.
